This tale of a Southerner (Tom Selleck) trying to rebuild his life and get his home back after the American Civil War is a step above the average Western. As he did in Quigley Down Under, Selleck makes an admirably convincing cowboy and he's strongly supported by Suzy Amis as his wife, with the sibling-act Keith and David Carradine as rousing bad guys. Well set on eye-catching locations and decently written in a classy script based on an Elmore Leonard story, it all adds up to an enjoyable outdoor TV movie.
