Jenna Elfman, December 2003

Jenna Elfman

Born: 30th September 1971
Where: Los Angeles

The clasically trained ballerina made her big screen acting debut opposite Matthew McConaughy in Ron Howard's Edtv.

The actress began dancing aged five, and studied ballet until the age of 16, before switching to jazz and appearing in music videos for the likes of Depeche Mode.

In 1991, she began studying acting with Milton Katselas, and appeared as a dancer on the annual Academy Awards telecast.

She met future husband Bodhi Elfman whilst auditioning for a Sprite advert, and they eventually married in 1994.

Elfman landed work in several adverts before landing her first TV jobs, making guest appearances in Roseanne, NYPD Blue, The Monroes and Murder One.

In 1996, she landed a regular role in the Molly Ringwald sitcom, Townies, which although short-lived, proved a big break for the apiring actress.

"I thought about being a nun for about five minutes until I realised I couldn't be with boys."

After her award-winning role on the comedy series Dharma & Greg, Elfman sought to expand her career in film, landing a cameo in Grosse Pointe Blank.

She made her starring feature debut in Edtv, followed with the triangular romance Keeping the Faith, Edward Norton's directorial debut, alongside Ben Stiller.

Next up was Warren Beatty's misfiring ensemble drama Town & Country with Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn.

Recent work includes the animated/real life caper Looney Tunes: Back in Action with Brendan Fraser and Steve Martin.

She also suppplied a voice for Clifford's Really Big Movie.
