The actor first attracted attention alongside Roger Daltrey and Chesney Hawkes in the 1990 drama Buddy's Song.
However, it was as Eddy in Guy Ritchie's celebrated British gangster caper Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels that he is probably best known.
Born in London's East End, Moran trained at Mountview Theatre School and made his feature debut in the German drama Hard Days, Hard Nights.
After Lock, Stock he appeared in a number of underperforming films, most notably the crime thriller Rancid Aluminium.
He was also fined after knocking out a persistent photographer during the London premiere of Lock, Stock.
Despite landing lead roles - in Christie Malry's Own Double Entry, Another Life - he was better known for being a fixture on the London social circuit.
He did play Aramis in the all-star The Musketeer alongside Catherine Deneuve and Tim Roth.
However, forthcoming roles tended by be more of the calibre of Adam Ant in the low-budget biopic Ant Muzak.
Recent work includes the British gangster movie Spivs with Ken Stott.
