A crazy but strikingly unfunny comedy about two failed musicians (Sam Rockwell, Steve Zahn) mistaken for safecrackers, and manoeuvred by a comic Jewish gangster (Michael Lerner) into cracking two safes to right what he sees as a long-festering wrong. The script is notably lacking in real humour, so that its over-the-top characters register as pathetic rather than amusing. Zahn is okay but Rockwell and heroine Christina Kirk would be well advised not to use these listless performances as calling cards.
