Face/Off

FBI agent John Travolta has to have the face of his arch-enemy - and the man who killed his son - grafted onto his own to foil a terrorist bomb plot. Yes, it is as daft as it sounds but director John Woo carries it off thanks to some superlative action sequences and straight-down-the-line performances from Travolta and Nicolas Cage as his physog-shifting nemesis.

Movie rating: 4 star rating. - very good.

Face/Off

John Travolta and Nicolas Cage both get to play the hero and the villain in this completely ridiculous but consistently exciting thriller about two men swapping faces as well as identities.

FBI agent Archer (Travolta) finally runs Castor Troy (Cage), the arch criminal who killed his son, to earth.

Although Cage is reduced to a comatose state, it's disclosed that he and his now-imprisoned brother have planted a massive bomb.

Travolta undergoes a bloody face switch to get the goods on Cage's brother. At least that's the plan.

While brother soon smells a rat, Cage escapes, has Travolta's face grafted on and disposes of everyone who knows of the switch.

What follows is a balletic bloodbath typical of the director of Broken Arrow, with men flying while leaping through the air, or turning somersaults to avoid bullets.

A final speedboat duel knocks spots off anything in Speed 2. Pity it's quite so silly - but then action fans can't have everything.

This movie is one of my favourite thrillers - full of great slo-mo action, terrific gunplay and non-stop thrills. John Woo is undoubtly one of the great action masters around.

One of my favourite movies ever, difinitely in my top ten. Two amazing actors, two great proformances, shows how good these actors can play both the baddie and the goodie. Outstanding. Great storyline, very original. Oh... the gold guns are cool.

Absolutely unbelievable! Stunning performances by John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. Brilliant and definitely a complete action packed movie!! There was no downside to this movie and in no way were John and Nic bad actors. I find it hard to rate this movie because it's so good!
