A slightly quirky comedy about an impoverished Beverly Hills Jewish family, forever moving on, always one jump ahead of the landlord. Elderly dad (Alan Arkin) is at his wits' end. Salvation seems in sight for the Abramowitzes with the arrival of cousin Rita (Marisa Tomei), fleeing from the rehab clinic, whose rich father (Arkin's brother) agrees to instal her - and them - in a luxury apartment if they'll look after her. Jinking, slightly jazzy music by Rolfe Kent underlines the episodic qualities of the narrative and there are a few chuckles to be had.
