A warm and whimsical Irish comedy, not exactly riotous but good for a few chuckles and a tear or two along the way. Someone in the village of Tullymore's population of 52 has won the National Lottery and local rogue Jackie O'Shea (Ian Bannen) is determined to find out who. Conspiracy with Michael O'Sullivan (David Kelly) eventually unmasks the winner as Ned Devine, but a visit to the lucky man's cottage reveals he has died from a heart attack on hearing the result. At first resolved to claim the pot for themselves, Jackie and Michael eventually concede they'll need the help of the entire village to pull it off. Everyone agrees... except Lizzy, the local witch. Clean, crisp and gentle fun results: winning performances from Bannen, Kelly and Fionnula Flanagan help while away a pleasant hour and a half.
