A pleasant, zesty, if not too believable comedy about two orphans turned con-men, this runs like several episodes of an above-par TV sitcom.
Happy-go-lucky swindlers, Jez (Stuart Townsend) and Dylan (Dan Futterman) are joined on one 'sting' by upper-crust English girl Georgie (Kate Beckinsale), who's temping for extra money while training as a doctor.
With one thing leading to another, Georgie's need to save a foundation for Down's Syndrome children and the boys' scheme to net a million and a mansion are pretty well bound to collide.
A good deal of sub-Ealing fun is had before and after they do, although the film moves in fits and starts and seems to have several endings.
The three leads are enthusiastic (and the lads' Battersea Power Station home splendidly inventive), but all the best performances come from the people they gyp along the way.
