This lightweight but fairly enjoyable Eddie Murphy comedy sees co-star Jeff Goldblum playing a TV shopping channel exec who sends flagging sales soaring after a chance encounter with a mystic (Murphy).
Murphy is restrained in this one, giving Goldblum all the limelight in a no-surprises family comedy that pokes fun at the hypocrisy of telly evangelism and the materialism of TV shopping.
A surprise flop for Murphy, taking only $12million in the US and costing $60million. Soul star James Brown has a cameo.
