Danish director Ole Bornedal reshoots his own hit 1994 chiller in an eerie, atmospheric but unsatisfying tale of a city morgue attendant who may be a serial killer. Ewan McGregor gives a wan performance as a naive student, working there as a part-time nightwatchman, who becomes the prime suspect in the cops' murder inquiry. Then, of course, the real killer's also after him. With a top American director, this scenario could have made a great chiller, but, under Bornedal's too-loving gaze, it's all too arty, pretentious and sluggishly handled. Still, there is enough tension and sense of urban paranoia to keep you watching.
