By far the best of the 'Child's play' films about Chucky, the evil doll possessed by the spirit of a killer, this one's marked by its biting humour. The killer's mistress Tiff (sulky Jennifer Tilly) gets hold of the Chucky doll (still voiced by Brad Dourif) and brings it to life by a spell from the book Voodoo for Dummies. But fiends fall out and Tiff gets herself electrocuted, her spirit transferred to the 'bride' doll she had bought to taunt Chucky. The dolls find their paths crossing with runaway lovers Katharine Heigl and Nick Stabile as they head off to dig up the killer's grave and recover the amulet that will... well, who cares, since this is non-stop stuff with well-staged but not too grisly killings and a quite disgusting ending that paves the way for a further sequel. Tilly and Dourif have a vocal ball.
