In a fact-based drama, set in Harlem, two teenagers confront a New York undercover cop one night and one is shot. What shocks is that the youth was not just another hoodlum, but a promising black student from one of the country's top schools - so the question arises whether it was a racist killing or had the boy turned his back on his privileged existence and taken to crime. Based on a book by Robert Sam Anson it delves into serious issues but not in enough depth.
