Stephen Rea brings the heavy weight of his trademark hangdog expression to this plodding Devil's Own-style drama as a disillusioned IRA terrorist. Rea escapes out of a Belfast prison to start a new life in New York but, of course finds he's unable to forget his past, otherwise there'd be no story. He finds himself involved with Guatemalans planning a political assassination. Such a tedious and predictable reassembly of glum and over-familiar elements makes for a just bearable drama for patient viewers. The attempt to sketch a profile of a terrorist has been made frequently - and better - before, and there's very little action or meat on the dialogue for Rea to get his teeth into.
