Two decades on, looking older and less sharp, Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) and Bobby (Patrick Duffy) are heads of the famous Ewing Oil. But the infamous JR hasn't disappeared - he's the mean chief at rival Weststar. The sole purpose of this follow-up TV movie is to cash in on the popularity of the TV series, with the plot centring on the return of Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly) to sell his land. The two companies go to war, because greed is - as Michael Douglas once said - good. Never mind that the Eighties are gone and we've had the supposedly caring Nineties since. This telefilm proves that some soap stars never learn when the suds have popped.
