TV's apocalyptic cartoon series arrives on the big screen armed with a record number of four-letter words, for the ingenious reason that the whole plot's about swearing.
The kids in the 'quiet, redneck mountain town' of South Park are dying to see the latest gross-out film of Canadian comedy duo Terrance and Phillip. Trouble looms when the kids can't stop swearing in class and their mothers have T & P clapped in irons.
President Clinton agrees to an execution and, in no time at all, the US is at war with Canada. Just offensive and/or rude rather than irreverent, the film certainly swings along and some of its noisy, expletive-filled songs are actually quite catchy.
The novelty wears off a bit after a second viewing, despite some fun songs, and an hilarious joke about Satan and Saddam Hussein being gay lovers plotting to take over the world.
Sensitive souls should take the next train out of town.
