Bonnie Bedelia, Annabeth Gish and Frances Sternhagen are all excellent in this admirable made-for-TV movie heartwarmer, based on true events, about a deranged mother (Sternhagen) who locks her teenage daughter (Gish) in her room when she mistakenly thinks she is showing signs of schizophrenia. Now, more than a decade later, the girl is finally released, taken from the mother's care and is set to undergo rehabilitation. The ever undervalued Bedelia is especially good as the social worker who treats Gish, while suffering from a personal loss of her own.
