It's been a while since we met the man fresh out of prison for something he didn't do. Irish variation Git (Peter McDonald) doesn't look as though he'd hurt a fly. But, in this light-hearted, if exceptionally foul-mouthed Irish crime-caper-cum-road movie, Git does tend to do the right things at the right time, which is what saves his spotty skin. His travelling companion Bunny (Brendan Gleeson) listens to Vivaldi and reads pulp novels. Together they must find, capture and deliver a gangster to a bigger gangster. When they get him, the rogue's silver tongue does its best to derail their efforts. There are some amusing moments in this mishap-filled road to hell and back, but they aren't quite enough to make an engaging film. The pace tends to be slow and the action and sex scenes are often less than convincing. McDonald, though, is always credible.
