Think of The Commitments with no humour and that's G:MT, a talkie youth drama reminiscent of TV's This Life, set in modern-day south London. The story follows a bunch of kids chasing their dream to launch a band, G:MT, until one of their friends is paralysed in a motorbike accident. It's hardly a bundle of laughs, as the pals struggle to accept the tragedy and battle with their various demons. Although melodramatic stuff, it's well acted by the young, multi-racial cast, including rising star Chiwetel Ejiofor, currently to be seen in Dirty Pretty Things.
