True story based on the crazy relationship of Sixties gangster Sam Giancana (played here by John Turturro) and his moll, Phyllis, one of the singing McGuire Sisters (Mary-Louise Parker). Giancana was known for his connections to Frank Sinatra, Fidel Castro and the Kennedys. Director John N Smith doesn't quite get the whole thing to ring true; why do these two opposites attract and then stay together when both their worlds come crashing down around them? A surface-skimming cable TV movie which should have been better.
