Although this drama about friendship is familiar fare, there's a powerful message here as two teenage misfits - Max (Elden Henson), a lumbering, near-mute giant, and his neighbour Kevin (Kieran Culkin), a tiny, bright lad with a crippling degenerative disease - discover a mutual love of Arthurian legend that leads them into adventure. Adult performances are excellent too, with Sharon Stone as Kevin's mother, Gena Rowlands and Harry Dean Stanton as the grandparents, and The X-Files' Gillian Anderson as you've never seen her before. Well worth watching.
