The Saturday Night Live stalwart made her big screen debut in the mockumentary Who's The Caboose but is better known for There's Something About Mary.
She played Brenda, a friend of Mary (Cameron Diaz), in the Farrelly Brothers' 1998 box office smash.
One of four Jewish sisters - the others are a fellow actress, a feminist rabbi and a screenwriter.
She caused a major controversy when she used the word "chink" during a stand up routine on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 1993.
After There's Something About Mary she landed a support role in The Bachelor with Chris O'Donnell and Renee Zellwegger and in the comedy Screwed.
She played a "raving bitch" in The Way of the Gun and followed this up with supporting roles in Say It Isn't So and Heartbreakers.
Next up was the sci-fi comedy Evolution and before she landed the high-profile part of Patty Di Marco opposite Jack Black in School Of Rock.
