You could forgive Khalil Kain the fact that he does not in the slightest resemble Tiger Woods if his acting lit up the screen. But in this TV movie biopic of the African-American golf prodigy, Kain's portrayal of Woods aged 21 flies off the tee into the rough. At least Keith David and Freda Foh Shen do better as the parents who discovered Tiger's talent at an early age. The issue of a black man in a predominantly white man's sport is raised, but otherwise this is a bland film that tells us little of great interest. For golf freaks only in fact. As director, Star Trek, The Next Generation's LeVar Burton does himself no favours. ( JG)
