Natalie Portman is the weakest link in this tasty tale of a pregnant, tearaway trailer teen who takes off with her loutish boyfriend only to have him desert her in the car park of a supermart, leaving just her treasured camera. Living for weeks on the premises, Natalie has her baby there, briefly becomes a country-wide celebrity, allows long-missing mom (Sally Field) to run off with her money, but gradually builds her place in the community. Occasionally over-sentimental, it bolstered by plenty of tart dialogue. .
