British crime mystery of borderline baffling complexity, in which an out-of-work musician is framed for murder with the body count mounting. Lead performances are excellent - Bernard Hill is a standout as a grumpy cop and Steven Mackintosh is totally credible as the innocent on the run, while comedian Eddie Izzard, boldly cast, does fine work as a mysterious forensic scientist. The frequent swearing makes it unsuitable for the easily offended, but those who can follow the plot's intricacies will be kept happily guessing till the end. 3 stars
