This was the first of two 'Edna Buchanan' dramas Elizabeth Montgomery made shortly before her death in 1995 at the age of 62. Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Buchanan is based in Miami and her interest in the crime scene leads her to encounters with some pretty tough criminals as well as the police trailing them. This story tells of an assignment in which Buchanan investigates the case of an 18-year-old girl who has run away from her abusive father. It turns out that the facts of the case are rather too close for comfort... Montgomery - best-known for the hugely popular Sixties TV series Bewitched, for which she received a number of Emmy Award nominations - turns in a solid performance in this absorbing drama. Able support comes from Dennis Farina and Yaphet Kotto as the detectives involved.
