The fifth screen version of author Ouida's 19th-century shaggy-dog story about the friendship between a stray pooch and an Antwerp artist called Nello (Jeremy James Kissner). The film's boringly old-fashioned and sentimental, but it's great to have a laugh at Jon Voight as an eccentric painter with a silly accent and a daft hair-piece.
