Gladiator star Russell Crowe is the big hitter in this comedy from the director of the Austin Powers films.

The residents of a small US town go crazy when their small fry hockey team is picked to take part in a televised game against the New York Rangers.

There's an overuse of sub-plots and the whole film is a little unfocused, so it could have been a lot better.

Hank Azaria, Mary McCormack and Burt Reynolds (as a judge) also join in the mayhem on and off the field, in and out of the limelight.
