Jane Emelin (Juliette Lewis) is very happy to move into her first apartment alone, despite her boyfriend's (William Hurt) reluctance. But the new dewelling is not as charming as she had thought: the neighbours all seem to be sinister or weird and Jane soon suspects the place is haunted when inexplicable things happen and no one can be trusted, not even the local locksmith. Cockroaches and mice appear in droves, but nothing will put jane off. Determined to get to the root of the problem, she unravels a murder mystery and finds herself the target for next victim. Chiller fans may not be that spooked, but it's an interesting mystery with a twist at the end.
