The former child actor is best known for the role of toyboy Finch in the gross-out American Pie series.
He began acting at the age of seven and by ten had appeared in Richard III with the Brooklyn Shakespeare Company.
He made his Broadway debut at 12 as an understudy in John Guare's Lincoln Center Production of Four Baboons Adoring The Sun.
Thomas made his big screen debut at 16 in the crime drama Illtown and went on to play Arnie in the horror sequel The Rage: Carrie 2 in 1999.
The same year the Weitz Brothers cast him as nerdy Paul Finch - the object of Jennifer Coolidge's lust - in American Pie.
Subsequent appearances included the dire Freddy Got Fingered as well as the American Pie sequels and the horror thriller Taboo with Nick Stahl in 2002.
In 2004, he had a minor role as a Jewish stoner in the gross-out comedy Harold and Kumar Get The Munchies.
