At first refusing to assist a wealthy American (Peter Strauss) on the Orient Express train find the person who has been threatening him, pompous Agatha Christie detective Hercule Poirot (Alfred Molina) changes his mind when the man is found dead with several stab wounds and the train is delayed for a few days due to a rock fall on the line. The actors, including Meredith Baxter and the elegant Leslie Caron, line up to be interviewed in this modern-day-set TV remake of the famous murder mystery. Despite some changes and 21st-century touches, this is only an average thriller, especially given that many will know the outcome of the original.
