Our eponymous hero (Maury Chaykin) finds himself in the embarrassing and dangerous position of having his fingerprints discovered on the luggage of a murder victim who was to have been his client. Sidekick Archie (Timothy Hutton) takes the case on and eventually things are sorted out. Rex Stout's novel is transferred to the screen in a reasonable if leisurely time-passer: wiry little character actor Saul Rubinek is the best thing in it.
