Absorbing and well-acted Edwardian thriller starring Victor Mature that will keep most viewers busily guessing until the final reel. Peggy Cummins' cockney accent has to be heard to be believed, but Ethel Barrymore gives a splendid, full-blooded performance as a domineering old dowager. Vincent Price is at his best and most restrained as the policeman on the case.
