It's a Wonderful World

This screwball comedy proves to be a combination of It Happened One Night and The 39 Steps, with Claudette Colbert as a runaway poetess and James Stewart as the man just running - from the law. Very funny in parts, thanks to a pacy, witty script from Ben Hecht and Herman J Mankiewicz. The inspired story they concocted makes room for several of Hollywood's best character actors, with even Nat Pendleton and Edgar Kennedy funnier than usual as a couple of comic cops in hot pursuit of Colbert and Stewart.
