It Came from Outer Space

Mesmerising sci-fi thriller based on a story by Ray Bradbury. When an alien spacecraft crashes in the Arizona desert, its occupants adopt human guises to move unnoticed among the townsfolk. But they don't fool everyone... Shooting in 3D, director Jack Arnold set the otherworldly tone for his other Fifties spine-tinglers The Creature From the Black Lagoon, Tarantula! and The Incredible Shrinking Man.

This science-fiction thriller - originally made for 3-D - has common assets with other films of its genre produced at Universal-International in the Fifties: a generous budget, a capable director (Jack Arnold, who made Tarantula! and The Incredible Shrinking Man and some excellent source material, in this case a novel by Ray Bradbury.
