Not to be confused with the Errol Flynn-Eleanor Parker film of the same title 10 years earlier, this is a typically glossy Universal romantic melodrama of the mid-Fifties, with Hudson as a man who tries to re-marry his long-estranged wife. Shelley Fabares, later to star several times with Elvis Presley, makes her screen debut as Hudson's daughter. Other faces to look out for belong to George Sanders, David Janssen, once The Fugitive, and star of another long-running TV series, Harry O, benevolent Ray Collins, for so many years the long-suffering Lt Tragg in Raymond Burr's Perry Mason, and, in a very small role, Clint Eastwood.
