It's 1810, and British navy captain Cary Grant is sent to Spain to retrieve a massive cannon abandoned with the help of guerrilla leader Miguel (Frank Sinatra, saddled with a terrible accent and worse haircut). Grant agrees to help Sinatra use the cannon against the French, and during their trek across Spain he falls for Sinatra's lover - Sophia Loren in her first English-speaking film. The stars in their prime bring some allure to a plodding, miscast mess, and the film is packed with action and spectacle.
