In this average World War Two spy tale based on fact, Christopher Plummer stars as a cunning safecracker who cynically works for both the Allies and the Germans, who trained him to spy. Gert (Goldfinger) Frobe gives the best performance as a disillusioned German officer, but otherwise the acting is uneven, despite a supporting cast which includes Trevor Howard.
