Personable Jim Hutton as Erle Stanley Gardner's fictional creation the District Attorney in a high-gloss pilot for a series which never materialised. The supporting players are rather more colourful than Hutton's dedicated DA, including Edward Lou Grant Asner, pert Jo Ann Pflug from the movie M*A*S*H, intense Jessica Walter from Clint Eastwood's Play Misty For Me, and seasoned character actors Leslie Nielsen and Robert J Wilke.
