Fred Dryer and Stephanie Kramer star as two plainclothes detectives in this police drama which prefaced the series of the same title. Dryer plays Sgt Rick Hunter, a tough man who has spent his life on `the wrong side of the track' but has the reputation of being the best cop on the Los Angeles beat. Stephanie Kramer is Sgt Dee Dee McCall, a hardnose policewoman whose unorthodox detective work rivals Hunter's. As the catchline puts it: `Their precinct captain wants their badges. The underworld wants their heads. All they want is to get the job done.
