Paul Muni continued his series of historical portraits, begun with Louis Pasteur, Emile Zola and Benito Juarez, with this account of trapper and explorer Pierre Radisson in Canada's frozen wastes. It rather lacks bite, but is extremely well shot with Muni's excellent performance and a strong cast holding the straggling story together, despite limp direction and a noticeable lack of action.
