This vendetta thriller was Edward Dmytryk's penultimate film and his best piece of direction since the Fifties (with such films as The Caine Mutiny and The Young Lions). George Kennedy, full of menace, is particularly good as the NATO electronics expert who seeks out a terrorist group in Italy after his wife and children have been killed there. The cast includes John Mills and Rita Tushingham as Kennedy's colleagues.
