Suspenseful and decidedly different thriller, also known as The Stranger in Between. Dirk Bogarde has one of the best of his early screen roles as a murderer on the run - but no one really stands a chance against the brilliant performance of seven-year-old Jon Whiteley, later to win more laurels in The Kidnappers. Jon plays a little boy who runs away from home and meets up with a killer. The strange and fascinating relationship that springs up between the two fugitives makes compelling viewing.
