There can't be many films set against the Turkish Civil War in 1922, but it crops up here as the backcloth to a rousing comedy adventure story set mainly on board a train carrying a shipment of treasure from Turkey to Egypt. Charles Bronson and Tony Curtis are the two American adventurers hired to guard the train, and the treasure, against the constant attacks of a band of determined hijackers. Pretty Michele Mercier, who played Angelique, of historical novel fame, in several lavish films, is the governor's daughter who's also under their care. That veteran Hollywood heavy Leo Gordon brings his familiar mean features to a supporting role - and reveals an unexpected side to his talent. He also wrote the screenplay for the film.
