Utterly credible as concerned parents, Bruce Dern and Lee Remick are driven to distraction by their teenage son's drug abuse. Enter `Toughlove' - an organisation that stresses the responsibility of youngsters for their own actions. This doesn't make it any easier to live with, perhaps, but it's a start. Involving all the way, even if the restrictions of US network TV lead to a rushed and pat conclusion. In a memorable supporting role, Piper Laurie conveys the dedication of a mother caught up in something she's determined to beat, protecting herself at a terrible price.
