Fascinating fantasy thriller that never matches the brilliance of its opening scenes, as a racing driver halfway round the track suddenly finds himself roaring up the driveway of a country estate. Director Philip Leacock is brilliant in his understanding of child actors, as he proved in such films as The Kidnappers. So it's no surprise that the most interesting performance here comes from young Jewel Blanch as the teenage girl involved in some very mysterious goings-on.
