The Bridge at Remagen

World War Two action drama starring George Segal and Robert Vaughn. With the German army falling back before the Allied advance, a strategic bridge over the Rhine becomes the site of a desperate battle.

Talented director John Guillermin shows the facility for explosive action scenes that carried him through The Blue Max and The Towering Inferno, in this noisy war film. A virile cast, including George Segal, Ben Gazzara, Robert Vaughn and Bradford Dillman, serve him well. The film has a routine plot and a low-budget look, but crisp photography and tense battle sequences help to compensate for its failings.
