A thriller based on the same crime novel by David Goodis that spawned the gripping 1957 Dan Duryea-Jayne Mansfield film, The Burglar. It's fun watching Jean-Paul Belmondo do his own stunt-work; otherwise this is a dreary yarn and its only decent set-piece is its climax, set in a warehouse full of grain.
