Director Don Siegel ground out this remake of the 1947 Robert Montgomery thriller Ride the Pink Horse as one of the first TV movies, although it was shown in cinemas in most countries. The New Mexico fiesta is replaced by the New Orleans Mardi Gras, Robert Culp, Edmond O'Brien and Vera Miles head a good cast and there are some rather intrusive musical contributions from Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto.
