Shown in America as Combat High, this is a frantic slapstick farce from teen comedy specialist Neal Israel, director of the 1984 Tom Hanks movie Bachelor Party. Some good players are involved - notably Robert Culp, Dick van Patten, George Clooney and John Ratzenberger (postman Cliff in TV's Cheers) - but most of the plot and all of the gags will be familiar from the very similar Police Academy series. Odd to see that intense young actor Keith Gordon (star of Christine and Static) as one of the principal practical jokers.
