A rather unpleasant drama about a secret society which exerts a powerful influence over high positions in America. Glenn Ford, in one of the last of his major roles and his first TV movie, plays the economist who must now take on the society that has helped him rise to a position of influence. Paul Wendkos directs tautly but there's no real life here and its difficult to feel sympathy with so many characters who seem to be on automatic pilot. Film buffs can look for Virginia Gilmore, Robert Clarke and Dabney Coleman among the minor roles.
